What Is An Emergency?

If your pet shows signs of injury or exhibits symptoms of serious illness, please call us immediately. We can quickly assess the situation and help direct you to our hospital. Stay calm and drive carefully, we will be prepared to help when you get here.

Examples of an emergency situation:

• Hit by a car
• Abdominal pain, bloating or enlargement
• Vomiting, gagging or persistent coughing
• Rapid or difficult breathing
• Straining to urinate, bloody urine or stool
• Seizures, convulsions or trembling
• Bleeding, bite wounds, broken bones
• Eye injuries
• Sudden paralysis or severe lameness
• Poison exposure or ingestion
• Prolonged labor
• Persistent diarrhea
• Vocalizing as if in pain or distress
• Weakness, disorientation or collapse
• Pale mucous membranes or gum color
• Tissue swelling, bruising or burns
